Updates for the week ending July 10, 2020

This week I updated a couple link building tactics.

Lately I’ve found a lot of success building links using the Help a Reporter Out service. These links can be good for SEO and for building your online reputation. It can be a lot of work (but what quality link building tactic doesn’t take time and effort?) but I think you’ll find it’s worth the effort. This is part of the branded link building process.

While we’re talking about links, I updated the documentation on how to determine if a link helps your website. The new process includes ways to test pages to make sure a link helps your SEO effort- or only helps send traffic to your website. Both are good- SEO authority through a link is better!

A member of the Colony made a great point during our weekly office hours call this week: publishing your address in a local listing might not always be safe. If you work from home and that’s your main office, you might consider alternatives (or skip that step altogether). Please be safe! Safety is more important than SEO.

All of these processes are available to paid subscribers to Curious Ants.
